Strip Category Base – Ignores Static Pages

I have enabled the Strip Category Base function which does successfully remove the /category/ link, however rather than using the static pages that I have set up it goes to the default category list page. This does work perfectly if I add “.” to the category base, however this add /./ into the sitemap created by RankMath.

After searching I have found a php script that can be added to the functions.php file that prioritises the static pages over the categories however that breaks the static pages, and removes images & footers etc

Please can you assist me with this issue.

Please can you assist here? I am totally out of ideas.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math support, and sorry for the unexpected delays and any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Upon checking the affected URL you shared and your website’s sitemap, I can’t seem to find any traces of /./ in the URS.

Can you please confirm from your end if this is resolved?

The category page you shared also has images and the footer being loaded even though you have mentioned the PHP script is currently disabled.

    Looking forward to helping you.
