Hello Team, I am using Rank Math Seo Plugin and Edit Author Slug together and from beginning I am getting 404 problem with my xml sitemap. /sitemap_index.xml link throws to 404 page and redirect to homepage.

I tried many settings provided by Rank Math team but nothing worked. I performed the conflict test by deactivating all plugins one by one and noticed that the edit author slug plugin is causing the problem.

Please Note: Sometime this problem solves on its own and reappears on its own.

Following setting I tried too much times

    1. Flushed permalink setting

    2. Excluded sitemap from cache plugin

    3. purged all cache

    4. save sitemap setting in rank math plugin

And finally talked with litespeed to exclude xml sitemap and they replied with email….

LiteSpeed is not caching the sitemap , as you can see in my screenshot

there is an x-litespeed-cache-control: no-cache header, which means this URI is not being cached by LiteSpeed Cache

However, you do have a cache-control header, this header will tell browser to cache this page on its local , try get rid of it and then do a hard refresh

And they also send me a picture in which they marked with red written as following…

    x-litespeed-cache-control: no-cache

The same is happening to me but I usually fix it by going into Settings –> Permalinks and then just saving the settings without touching it.

Samuel P, I thinks this is not a solution, because I also done this to many times but after sometime problem reappears..
