The backslash is added even with RankMath disabled and caches cleared, so I imagine it must be somehow programmatically inserted by the Ecwid plugin. I will revert to them to address the issue.
I have set custom permalinks to remove trailing backslash on all urls (this was recommended by some SEOs I spoke to) and it works great on all pages, except for the shop page thanks to the page load addition of the trailing backslash. All pages are set up with correct links now in the content too so I will need to keep this permalink structure.

Sure, I’ll need to add your IP address to the Firewall also – could you please let me know what that is?
If you open the Shop page link in previous post you will see it gets inserted after the page.
Gets inserted after page load I mean to say (I can’t edit previous post)
I am getting the same issue on my shop page which is using the Ecwid shopping cart plugin. The trailing slash gets added at the end of the document load:
I have General Settings/Links/Strip Category Base set to On.
Please can you ask Dev to include a fix for this scenario too?
This comes across as unhelpful/abrasive:
Michael, I would request you to not hijack other’s posts. I have re-opened your previous ticket so please free to followup there.
I commented on a post relating to the issue I described in a previous ticket that was never resolved by Rankmath:
The ticket I opened was closed by RankMath, so it was not possible for me to continue on the ticket.
I would request you please give helpful responses that resolve the issues I’ve posted about (then I won’t have to post about the issues anymore – happy days for all of us trust me) instead of either not reading them or fobbing them off.
Hi Todd, I ran that code when you first sent it to me 4 weeks ago and it didn’t work to remove the TOC warning message from within RankMath Page Edit, and you mentioned that the code doesn’t work in Gutenberg and that you were working on an update:
Hi Todd, I have checked with Ecwid, and they said the sitemaps are from RankMath:
As I see from the link: https://reclaimdesign.org/sitemap_index.xml, you have sitemaps for your site and for Ecwid store generated by RankMath plugin. I’d recommend you to figure this logic by discussing this question with RankMath support and I assume they will suggest removing one of the sitemaps as they contain the same links.
Turning off the product sitemap option within RankMath removes both sitemaps, which does imply that this is related to RankMath, and also doesn’t help since I am then left with no product sitemap. Please can you assist since this will be of benefit not only to myself but to anyone who uses Ecwid and RankMath (of which I am sure there will be many).
Also what do you mean by when you say “Just make sure to change the file location”? What file are you referring to?
Hi Michael, I have the latest update but for some reason my TOC is till showing? I have TOC coded by myself, and it works great, but as this is not part of the supported TOC list it shows as an error. Is there a way to turn this off?
Hi Michael and Todd,
The Ecwid integration is moving forward, but there are still some glitches. One of them is duplicate sitemaps.
It appears that this sitemap is being injected by RankMath (takes the same format as per the post and page sitemaps which leads me to believe this ie using CDATA):
The Ecwid created sitemap is also being picked up (using their format ie not using CDATA):
Please can you advise how to resolve this?
Looking forward to getting this working.
Thanks for your help.
