Hello,
I’m sorry to hear that you’re facing issues with the Yoast import while using the Rank Math plugin. It seems like there might be a conflict or an issue during the import process. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:
-
Check for Conflicting Plugins: Ensure that you have deactivated any other SEO plugins, including Yoast, before starting the import process. Rank Math will check for conflicts and prompt you to deactivate any conflicting plugins.

-
Use Import & Export Feature: If the Setup Wizard continues to fail, you can try importing your Yoast settings using the Import & Export feature. Navigate to WordPress Dashboard → Rank Math SEO → Status & Tools → Import & Export → Other Plugins. This method allows you to import data without going through the Setup Wizard again.

-
Recalculate SEO Scores: If you encounter an error during the SEO score recalculation, you can skip this step initially and complete the import without recalculating scores. You can recalculate them later by going to Rank Math SEO → Status & Tools.
-
Backup Your Site: Before making any changes or imports, it’s always a good idea to back up your site to prevent any data loss.

Hi,
So the import can still be done when Yoast is deactivated? Does it still know what to import than?
Hello,
Yes, you can import the data even when the Yoast SEO plugin is deactivated, as the data is saved in your database.
However, you can continue the setup by skipping the importing process. After that, please try reimporting the data in WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Import & Export > Other Plugins, then under the plugin column, uncheck the Calculate SEO Scores option below, and click the Import button.
Here’s a screenshot for your reference:

Please note that some options are only available in Advanced Mode. If you are not able to find the Import & Export, please try to switch to Advanced Mode: https://rankmath.com/kb/switch-from-easy-to-advanced-mode/
Once the import process is done, you can recalculate the scores by following the steps from this link: https://rankmath.com/kb/rank-math-status-and-tools/#recalculate-seo-score-for-posts
Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.
Thank you.
