Wrong URL appearing for certain keyword

    To whom it may concern,
    Hope you are doing good.
    I have set up the SEO of the whole website (1000+ products) using the Pro RankMath plugin installed on FashionClap and everything seems to work perfectly except for a single keyword.
    This keyword “Zadig & Voltaire Online” was used for a specific URL of my website (https://fashionclap.com/product/zadig-voltaire-gina/) for a long period of time BEFORE using the RankMath plugin for the SEO.
    And until now, the keyword “Zadig & Voltaire online” redirects clients to the same specific url which is a random product on my website even though I have updated the keywords used for this product (removed the “Zadig & Voltaire Online” keyword and only put the product’s name as a keyword) and used the keyword “Zadig & Voltaire online” to redirect people to my front page instead of the product as wanted.

    Kindly find screenshots below of the keyword used inside the product as well as the results pages when searching this keyword I’m talking about.

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

    The focus keyword only helps you in optimizing your post’s content and it doesn’t have any influence on the SERPs. Even if you changed the keyword in the meta box, if Google still finds your product page more appropriate for the keyword than your homepage, they will continue to show the product page.

    If you want your homepage to rank higher for that keyword then please optimize your homepage’s content for the keyword and wait for Google to decide that the homepage is more relevant for the keyword than the product page.

    Thank you for your prompt response.
    Actually, Google finds the keyword more appropriate for this product then for my homepage as it was previously used (using another SEO plugin) as a keyword for this product for a long period of time.
    Isn’t there any way to reset previous keywords saved or make Google crawl again my website to check for the new keywords?

    Hello,

    Google crawls the site on its own. If you want your homepage to be displayed in the SERPs for a keyword then make sure to optimize the content of the homepage and wait for Google to decide to show it for that keyword.
