Hi there,

I have a problem which is whenever I log into my WordPress backend and want to edit my article, my server CPU usage rises to 700 %.

I checked my access log and among other things, I found that there are many of the same POST requests coming via the rankmath plugin – I think.

It looks like this: “POST /wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user HTTP/2.0” I will post the full request in the Sensitive Data section.

This request sometimes comes 10+ times per second, at other times it’s once per second but for 30 seconds.

Is there any way to limit the amount of requests done, and maybe tell the plugin to wait 30 seconds for a response before creating another request?

Please follow these steps for initial troubleshopoting:
- First, please install the Query Monitor plugin on your website. This plugin will help us identify any queries related to Rank Math that might be slowing down your dashboard. Once you install it, please go to your dashboard and look for the Query Monitor icon on the top bar. Click on it and take a screenshot for us. You can use this tool to upload the screenshot and share the link with us.
- Second, please check the PHP values of your site by going to WordPress dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info tab > Server. These values affect the performance of your site and they should be set according to the following recommendations:

PHP Memory Limit: 512M
Max input time: 150
PHP time limit: 120
PHP max input variables: 1000
```
  If any of these values are lower than the recommended ones, please contact your hosting provider and ask them to increase them for you.

Thank you for your reply Ike. I’ll send you the screenshot in the sensitive data section – I hope it’s the correct screenshot. The values are all higher than you said they should be, so that shouldn’t be the issue.

We might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

Hey guys, I solved the problem! I deleted a plugin called “Kadence blocks” which already improved the situation a lot. Then I deleted WooCommerce and it’s very fast again now. Thanks for offering to help 🙂
