Word count for SEO and internal/external links

    Hello,
    I have shop Woocommerce on WordPress and I am using your plugin Rank Math SEO. Currently I am working on SEO of our products. Each product has short and long description. I see that I still didn’t pass this test, because it shows that I need to have at least 600 words. There is no problem in changing content into 600 words, but I noticed that for the word count it counts short description and not long one. Why is it like that? Is it possible to change that it will be counting long description. If I make short description this long it will make product page much less clear.
    Another issue I have is that it shows on the SEO test that I need to use internal and external links, but I read that it is impossible to use them on the product page and even when I try it doesn’t work. Is it possible that your system counts my product pages as normal page? Can I even change it? If it’s impossible, it won’t be possible to have 100/100 SEO on product page.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    Rank Math should prioritize the content from the main Product description, not the short description. If that isn’t the case from your end, please share some screenshots of the description content from your end.

    As for the internal and external links, while it’s possible to add them to product pages, they may not always be as impactful as on regular pages. Rank Math considers product pages differently from standard pages, but you can still improve your SEO by adding relevant links where possible.

    Please note that these tests and SEO scoring are just guidelines and one does not need to follow them religiously. At the end of the day, the content needs to be written for the readers and not for the search engines so scoring higher points in Rank Math’s tests won’t guarantee higher rankings.
