Will 'private' status prevent Woocommerce products to be indexed by Google?

I’m currently disabling some Woocommerce product from my site and for this, I set them as private.
But I noticed that no index meta is not changed to true automatically?
Do I have to manually set no index to true every time I disable a product?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The “noindex” robots meta is dynamically applied to the product when the status is changed to private even though the checkbox is not unchecked on the Rank Math metabox.
You can inspect the page source to check this, here is an example from my test environment:

I have logged this internally and hopefully our developers will make some improvements in the upcoming updates.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Yes, to recover the noindex to the user interface will avoid this confusion.
But the noindex is, in fact, correctly shown in the robots meta for private products.
    Thank you!
