Why is the SEO score different between archive and single post pages in Rank Mat

#1084678
  • I’m using the Rank Math SEO plugin on my WordPress site. Recently, I noticed that the SEO score shown for a post on the archive page is different from the score shown on the single post page.

This happens even for old posts that haven’t been edited recently. In the past, the scores were the same on both pages.

    Things I’ve checked:

I didn’t change the theme template recently.

The post content is the same; the difference appears to be recent.

The issue started appearing after recent updates, but I’m not sure if it’s related to Rank Math or WordPress updates.

What could be causing this change, and how can I make the SEO score in the archive page match the one in the single post page again?

  • Hello,

I apologize for the issue you are facing with the differing SEO scores between archive and single post pages in Rank Math. This can sometimes happen due to how Rank Math calculates SEO scores based on various factors, including content visibility and metadata that may differ between the two types of pages.

Here are a few potential reasons for the discrepancy:

    1. Content Context: The SEO score on archive pages may take into account the context in which the post appears, such as the overall content of the archive page, which can affect the score differently than when viewed in isolation on a single post page.

    2. Updates and Changes: If there have been recent updates to Rank Math or WordPress, it’s possible that changes in how scores are calculated could lead to differences. Sometimes, updates can also introduce new features or adjustments that affect scoring.

    3. SEO Score Calculation: The SEO score is calculated based on various parameters, including keyword usage, readability, and other SEO best practices. If any of these parameters are evaluated differently on an archive page versus a single post page, it could lead to a different score.

To address this issue and potentially align the scores:

    • Check Settings: Ensure that your Rank Math settings are consistent across both types of pages. You can navigate to the Rank Math settings and review any options that might affect how scores are displayed.
    • Re-evaluate Content: Consider reviewing the content and metadata of your posts to ensure they meet the latest SEO standards as per Rank Math’s guidelines.
    • Clear Cache: If you are using any caching plugins, clear your cache to ensure that you are viewing the most up-to-date scores.

If the issue persists, we recommend replying to your ticket with more details about your site, including the URL, so a human agent from our support team can assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!
