- Navigate to the Google Search Console.
- Enter your homepage URL into the provided field.
- Click Enter on your keyboard.
- Click REQUEST INDEXING.
This process may help Google recognize the changes you made to display your site name correctly in the search results.

Why Google Displays URL Instead of Site Name in SERP? » Rank Math
I’ve already done this and the problem persists,
What’s strange is that this is the problem for all my websites.
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
Google uses different sources to figure out and show your Site Name on SERPs
- og:site_name
- Website structured data (Schema)
- Content in title elements
- Heading elements, like H1
Among them, Rank Math automatically includes og:site_name, meta tag and the Website Schema on your page. You can also check the Google documentation on site-name: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names
However, as mentioned in the documentation, this process is automated by the algorithm, and even though it takes into account the information on the website, it is still not guaranteed that your site name will come up correctly in Google SERPs since it’s solely decided by Google what they found relevant and user-friendly and which one they want to show.
Please make sure that you have added the correct site name in WP Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > Local SEO > WebSite Name and our plugin will add it to the meta tags and Schema. Also, make sure that the Site Title is set correctly in the WordPress settings.
Once done, wait for Google to decide to show it in the SERPs.
Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
thank you for your reply,
That’s what I don’t understand. Why google decides not to display the name of the site when everything is well configured?
Hello,
There are a lot of possible reasons but the most common include the fact that the name is too generic or is somewhat dubious for the users such as for example Best Learning Platform
, which is a claim that cannot be supported.
Those are just two examples that could explain why the name is not showing properly.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
Thanks for your answser !
I understand, yes,
But for me it’s basic titles like: AlmpOptimisation, Webconceptor, Yd Perf, PetsRoyalshop, Lakana services, etc… And all his websites display the domain name.
I don’t understand why.
Hello,
Please note that Google uses a machine learning algorithm to generate the sitename for your pages based on other information it has collected about your website and your industry. So you can’t force it to display the site name.
We would suggest keeping mentioning the desired title on both the title of the page and the schema structure (which our plugin automatically adds after configuring the Local SEO settings in Rank Math > Titles & Meta).
Lastly, please go through the Google guidelines about the site name to help you increase the chances of displaying the desired site name on the SERP: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names
Looking forward to helping you.
Ok thanks for your answer !
