Why are my posts to the Facebook group being deleted!!

I posted twice to the Facebook group this morning. Once to ask why links we post to Facebook have changed their format and once to ask why Redirections are not working.

Both posts were deleted by an admin.

Then I posted asking why those posts were deleted and that post was also deleted.

I have 2 genuine problems and I’m really angry that someone running your FAB page would delete my posts, plus there is no feedback as to why they were deleted.

    Please explain!

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

The Facebook group is for general discussions only.

Also, we provide feedback and a link to open a new ticket to every FB post we delete. You might have missed it.

Please tell us the issues here and we would be more than happy to assist.

    Looking forward to helping you.

Thanks for getting back to me. I did not get any link to open a new ticket.

In FB it shows the 3 notifications that my posts were deleted and says ‘See their Feedback’ but when I click on the notification it just opens my regular feed. Maybe its a bug with FB?

Anyway, here is my first problem. Rank Math recommended to redirect www url to the non www canonical that we use. But the redirection settings don’t work and there is no explanation when it recommend doing it, how to actually do it.

And now I’ve typed this I can’t find any way to upload the screen shots!!

    Hi Sean,

Thanks for getting back to us and sorry for any frustration caused.

Well it is bit odd that you did not receive the feedback from Facebook, it might be a glitch.

Rank Math recommended to redirect www url to the non www canonical that we use. But the redirection settings don’t work and there is no explanation when it recommend doing it, how to actually do it.
Rank Math is only enable to redirect permalinks that exist within your WP, for this kind of redirection since it sits outside WP, you will need to get in touch with your host so that they can help in creating a .htaccess redirection.

And now I’ve typed this I can’t find any way to upload the screen shots!!
Please share some links to the images by uploading them to https://imgur.com/ or any other image hosting platform.

We are looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

    Thanks Michael,

It might be worth explaining about redirection within the plugin.

Telling people they should redirect and having a redirection function that can’t actually do it, without telling people it can’t is a bit of an oversight.

    Hi Sean,

    Thank you for the feedback.

The main aim of the SEO analysis is to bring to light issues that might negatively affect your SEO and this is one of them.
If you have the technical expertise of writing HTTP redirections, Rank Math makes it possible to directly edit your .htaccess file by heading over to Rank Math > General Settings > Edit .htaccess and add the necessary directives to fix this.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks Michael,

Yes I have the necessary skill, I’ve been building and managing sites for 30 years (give or take).

My point is there is a section for creating redirections and that is where 100% of users are going to go when they are told to add a redirect. The details shown in the SEO analysis should say this type of redirect needs to be done in the htaccess file not in the redirections section.

Even the error message in the redirections section is confusing. Please add at least one valid source url. When the person has put in their website URL of course they think that is valid.

My point is that Rank Math needs slightly better error messages and help text for this specific type of recommendation.

    Thanks for your help,

    Sean
