I’ve overwritten the plugin on our server and this appears to have resolved the issue.
Thanks
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
Glad to see you were able to solve it. If you have any other issues or questions, just let us know.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hi
This issue appears to have rematerialised.
When we make updates to the site code in question we push changes back to git and then deploy those changes to our production server using Capistrano. For all the sites we manage which have RankMath installed this hasn’t been a problem.
But with this site each time we deploy an update we’re unable to access posts via the CMS unless we re-upload the plugin manually via SFTP. All we see is a white screen which I’ll share via the sensitive data section along with the login to the CMS.
Does the RankMath plugin create any files or a config which is wiped being wiped when we deploy? Or could it be a permissions issue perhaps?
I’ve shared login info along with the screenshot link – it would be great if you could take a look and let us know if there’s something we can do to stop this happening.
Thanks
Jonathan
Hello,
Could you also share some FTP (or SFTP) details so we can check some WordPress settings there and the debug log?
Looking forward to help you.
Hi Alberto
Happy to supply SFTP login – can you send over an SSH key and passphrase?
If that’s not possible I could share cPanel access and you could access the FTP account through that system?
Thanks
Hi Alberto
Any update on this query – are you able to supply your SSH details or can I supply cPanel access?
Thanks
Jonathan
Hello,
Apologies for the late follow up.
Please share the cPanel access in the sensitive section.
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Thanks Michael, I’ve shared the login details.
Hello,
We have enabled the log but we can’t see the issue. I guess it is because you will have to deploy some change to reproduce the issue you talked about so could you so it is logged in the log file and we can check it after that?
Looking forward to help you.
Hello,

Thank you.
Hi Alberto
Thanks for getting back to me.
When I log into the CMS I see the following error:
_magic_quotes_gpc() is deprecated in /home/hubse/www/releases/20200715152508/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 4791
Please see new screenshot shared in via the sensitive data field. When I try access a post/page the page is still empty.
When I switch off RankMath I can access the post/page.
Did you not see the same issue?
Thanks
Hello,
The “_magic_quotes_gpc()” issue is just a warning that the function is being removed in upcoming PHP versions. You could safely ignore (it will disappear once we disable the WP_DEBUG mode).
But we can’t see any other error in the log, did you deploy the changes to reproduce the issue? If you did, since it is the only issue in the log, you should ask the theme support, since the “_magic_quotes_gpc()” issue is being caused in the theme.
Looking forward to help you.
Hi Alberto
Thanks for the information.
When the plugin is switched on the white screen appears.
With that in mind, do you still need us to redeploy the site or will you switching plugin on/off be enough?
The reason we switched it on is so the client could continue editing pages of the site.
Thanks
Jonathan
