What is wrong with Recipe Schema?

    Rank Math free

I’ve been using RankMath for long time. I’m a food blogger, with tons of recipe websites from many countries and styles. Always loved RankMath. Really simple to use and useful, and because of my content, I earnt a lot of 1st rankings in Recipe Carrousell from Google.

    My point is.

Suddenly and without any kind of explanation, I lost WHOLE schemas from all the recipes from the… 70% of my sites. And we are not talking about low authority or new sites, i’m talking about big websites, that moved traffic. And suddenly… went to (almost) 0, only gathering traffic with the SERP result.

But it’s just weird, because I’m using the same RankMath configuration for all my sites, and some of them, really small websites still have the Schema Markup, same builder (Elementor), same recipe structure, same type of content.

And when I place the good ones, and the schema lost URLs in the test tools from Google, I get that the schema is correct.

It’s not about authority, it’s not about penalties from Google, it’s not about rankmath too? Just tell me what I need to do. Do I need more Recipe data from RankMath Pro? I’ll buy it, it’s fine. I just need fix this.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with your recipe schema no longer showing in search results rich snippets.

I checked your sample URL and did not find any issues that caused your schema to be dropped from Google rich results. If you are experiencing a similar issue across a large number of your websites without making changes to your website SEO or Rank Math, it is likely you have been affected by a Google algorithm update. You can refer our guide on how to handle Google algorithm updates: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/
You may also refer to our article on the most recent algorithm update: https://rankmath.com/google-update/december-2022-helpful-content-update/

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.

We are talking about URLs that were 1st position in Google for long, really long time. How an algorithm change takes those URLs, but all the Website out from the schemas?

It’s not like those recipes lost positions. The entire website lost the schema at the same time.

    Hello,

Sometimes, an algorithm update does affect even big websites that are ranking 1st in a long time. This is why we create a guide on how to counter it and regain back the rankings.

With that said, please check for URLs in your Google Search Console and look for any coverage issues that may tell us why your content is not ranking well.

    Looking forward to helping you.
