Website Technical Issue causing traffic Loss!

It got solved but we are facing a problem these days. We had all the articles in the top 10 and now most of them have gone away.

Recently we changed the canonical URL of those posts and it solved the issue we got our ranking back. We thought that it was happening because of duplicate pages but now again the posts are losing their ranking. We are not sure what is causing this issue.

One thing we saw right now is that the post we added canonical URLs manually has been removed from the sitemap. Would you please tell me how to get those URLs back on the sitemap page (https://modicarefamily.com/post-sitemap.xml)? There are almost 400 posts but there are only a few in the sitemap.

And also why the ranking is going up and down. It is not a Google update for sure, it is some technical issues.

The traffic dropped from 150K+ per day to 10K per day. It happened a few days back, we did some changes to website design and some search console error fixes, and the traffic got recovered but now again traffic has reduced. Please tell me why this is happening, is it because of some issues in the sitemap, robots.txt, or anything else?

  • Hello,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Our plugin adds the self-referencing canonical URLs to the posts, you don’t have to add them manually. If you add a canonical manually, the post will be considered duplicate content and will be excluded from the sitemap. Please remove the manual canonical URLs to include them in the sitemap.

Also, if a post has a canonical URL pointing to some other page, it will not drop in rankings, it will be deindexed from the SERPs. To figure out the cause of the drop in ranking, you will have to do a complete site audit to figure out if there are any issues with the on-page, off-page, or technical SEO of your site: https://rankmath.com/blog/seo-audit/

Let us know how that goes. Looking forward to helping you.

Hello, thanks for the response, would you tell me why this is showing?

The website is opening perfectly as you can check but it is showing some errors, What does that mean?

    Hello,

I checked your site with our External SEO Analyzer tool and I can see the Mobile Snapshot is working properly:

In this case, please head over to your WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and click the Clear SEO Analysis and Remove Transients buttons to flush the SEO Analysis cache.

Once done, clear your website and any server-level caching on your site before doing the Sitewide analysis again.

Let us know how it goes.

    Thank you.

How to fix the Tap Target Size for rankmath table of content?

    Check here – https://www.seoptimer.com/tap-target-size-test/modicarefamily.com%2Ftaj-web-series-download

We tried adding margin: 8px; and also line height nothing worked.

    Hello,

Thank you for providing additional information.

Tap target size as per Google lighthouse should be minimum of 48dp. As I can see the URL, the size is around 25px at the moment. Try adding padding of 10px to make the size around 49px and then check. I would suggest testing in Chrome lighthouse as well. You can read more about it here: https://web.dev/accessible-tap-targets/

Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Thank you.

Hello, we are facing a new issue. We deleted some redirections in rank math but it is still showing as active. We don’t have another redirection plugin. A lot of redirection has been created and not able to delete or deactivate them.

    Hello,

Assuming you are using the latest version of all the plugins and the themes (please update if not yet), it would seem like a conflict with one of the plugins or the theme you are using.

To determine that, please follow this troubleshooting guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Here is a video you can follow as well:

Only the site admin would know and your users won’t be affected by this troubleshooting.

If the issue persists, please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
