Website not indexed – “You have not linked Google Search Console yet.”

    Hi,

I did the SEO analytics test and it says “You have not linked Google Search Console yet.” However, this must be a bug as I did create a property, verify it with Google and copy-pasted the code in Webmaster Tools>Google Search Console.
I went to the search console, checked the link and it said it is not indexed. There was an option to submit a request for indexing/crawling and that went thru.
I’ll check was it crawled in a day or two, but I really would like to know what is that “You have not linked Google Search Console yet.” thing about?
    Thanks,
    Luka

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math, and sorry for any inconvenience caused.

Rank Math checks if you’ve connected your Google Search Console with Rank Math or not. If you haven’t, you will see a warning.

Please head to Rank math > General settings > Analytics and check if you have connected your Google account. If you haven’t please connect then clear your cache and analyze your site again.

If it is already connected, clear the SEO Analysis cache by going to Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Clear SEO Analysis
    connected

Once done, clear the website and browser cache and re-run the SEO Analysis.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    I hope this helps.

    HI,

The website was already connected, before I created this ticket. As I sad, I’ve verified it, made the property in Google search console, copy pasted that piece of code under Webmaster Tools>Google Search Console and I was getting that error message. Now I tried what you’ve suggested, cleared all caches and I’m still getting the same error message.
Any ideas why is that so?
    Thanks!

    Hello,

The verification code that you added in the Webmaster Tools section is used to verify the property.

In that test, we check if you have connected Google Search Console with Rank Math, as Rank Math offers advanced integration with Google Search Console and allows you to view a lot of your website’s data directly in your WordPress dashboard.

Please follow this guide to connect Rank Math to your Google account:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/connect-your-google-account/

If it is already connected, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

Oh ok, thanks. I thought that Rank math is telling me I didn’t “linked” the website it self with the Google console, ie. that it won’t be indexed for some reason.
But that’s not the case with that error message, right? Please confirm that, so that I can close the ticket.
    Thanks

    Hello,

Yes, connecting your website to your Google Search Console account is different from indexing.

Here’s a checklist you can check to ensure that your site will be indexed:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-index/

    I hope that helps.

    Thank you.
