Website not appearing in Search Console during setup

    Rank Math free

    Hi,

I’m in the process of setting up RankMath and my website doesn’t appear in the Search Console or Analytics section during setup. I don’t have any pages on the website yet, but I created it back in May so I would think it’d be indexed by now. Is there anything I can do to make it appear in this section so I can start using RankMath?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,
    Ryan

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website not appearing in the Search Console during the setup of Rank Math. Since your website is fairly new and doesn’t have any pages yet, it might take some time for Google to index it. Here are a few things you can consider:

    1. Be Patient: If your website is brand new (created in May), it can take Google a while to find and index all the pages on your site.

    2. Use Instant Indexing: If you have any URLs ready, you can use Rank Math’s Instant Indexing feature to submit your URLs to IndexNow-enabled search engines, which can help in getting your content indexed faster.

    3. Check for Penalties: Ensure that your website is not penalized by Google. You can do this by searching for your website on Google. If it doesn’t appear in the search results, there might be a penalty that needs to be addressed.

    4. Crawl Budget Issues: If you have low-quality pages or orphan pages (pages without internal links), it may affect how Google crawls your site. Improving your internal linking structure can help.

    5. Connect Google Services: Make sure you have connected your Google account properly in Rank Math. This will allow Rank Math to fetch data from Google Analytics and Search Console once your site is indexed.

If you continue to experience issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern!

Also, as a note, if I use very specific terms on Google I can find the website in the search results.

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

    1. Please make sure that you have verified Google Search Console, if not, follow this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/

    2. Please make sure that you are not connecting to Google Search Console via a domain property but rather a URL prefix and that you have verified the correct version of your website on the Google Search Console (HTTP or HTTPS, www or non-www).

    3. Then remove Rank Math’s access from Google Please remove RankMath’s app from your Google apps permissions: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions

    4. Reconnect the Google account again to regenerate the auth token from Google, by going to WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math > General Settings > Analytics and configure the Search Console and Analytics settings again

Kindly check all necessary checkboxes to allow Rank Math to access some of the Google Services.

We hope this resolves the issue for you.

If you still face any problems or have any questions, please let us know. We’re always here to help.
