Website name not showing in Google search results (only domain appears)

#1112866
  • Hello,

    I am using Rank Math SEO on my website turkiyerestoranlari.com. I have filled in all the Local SEO → Person or Company → Organization details, including Website Name, Alternate Name, and Logo.

    However, in Google search results, instead of showing my site name (Türkiye Restoranları), Google is showing only the raw domain turkiyerestoranlari.com as the site title.

    When I check the page source, I see that Rank Math generates the following schema:

    {
    “@context”: “https://schema.org/”,
    “@type”: “Organization”,
    “@id”: “#organization”,
    “logo”: {
    “@type”: “ImageObject”,
    “url”: “https://turkiyerestoranlari.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/logo6.png”
    },
    “url”: “https://turkiyerestoranlari.com/”,
    “name”: “Türkiye Restoranları”,
    “description”: “Türkiye’nin Lezzet Durakları”
    }

    But in the search results, Google still doesn’t display my website name, while on other sites where I use Yoast SEO, the website name appears correctly.

    Could you please advise why this happens with Rank Math and how I can fix it so that my site name is shown instead of the plain domain?

    Thank you in advance.

  • Hello,

    We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website name not appearing in Google search results. Thank you for providing detailed information about your setup and the schema generated by Rank Math.

    Here are a few things to consider that might help resolve this issue:

    1. Check Google Search Console: Ensure that your website is properly indexed by Google. You can check if your pages are crawled and indexed using Google Search Console. If your pages are not indexed, it may take time for Google to update its database with the new information.

    2. Schema Markup Validation: Although you mentioned that the schema is generated correctly, it’s a good idea to validate it using Google’s Rich Results Testing Tool. This will help ensure there are no errors in the schema markup that could prevent Google from displaying your site name.

    3. Content Quality: Ensure that your website has high-quality content and is optimized for SEO. Factors such as poorly written content, low-quality inbound links, or slow loading times can affect how Google displays your site in search results.

    4. Patience: Sometimes, even after making the necessary changes, it can take time for Google to reflect those changes in search results. Be patient and monitor the situation over the next few weeks.

    5. Rich Snippets: Keep in mind that even if your schema is configured correctly, Google ultimately decides whether to display rich snippets or not. There is no guaranteed way to force Google to show your site name instead of the domain.

    If you continue to experience issues after checking these points, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or questions, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

    Thank you for your understanding, and we hope this helps resolve your issue!

    Hello,

    Thank you so much for getting in touch.

    Please note that Google uses a machine learning algorithm to generate the sitename for your pages based on other information it has collected about your website and your industry.

    I would suggest keeping mentioning the desired title on both the title of the page and the schema structure (which our plugin automatically adds after configuring the Local SEO settings in Rank Math > Titles & Meta).

    Lastly, please go through the Google guidelines about the site name to help you increase the chances of displaying the desired site name on the SERP: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/site-names

    Hope that helps.
