Hi, I am not sure how the page indexing in Rank Math SEO works. When I want to index now some pages I do it in Rank Math, but then I cannot see some results of the indexing. Can I see it in Google search console? How does it work please? It is more than 3 weeks and my website is still not completely indexed by Google and what is worse, I cannot see any progress… Can you please tell me, how does it work, how can I see the progress in google search console and if I should index all my pages both for www and none www versions of my website? I am confused.

Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with website indexing. To clarify how indexing works with Rank Math SEO and Google Search Console:
-
Indexing Process: When you submit your pages for indexing using Rank Math’s Instant Indexing feature, it informs search engines like Google to crawl and index those pages. However, it can take time for Google to process these requests and update their index. It’s normal for this process to take several weeks, especially for new websites or pages.
-
Monitoring Indexing Status: You can monitor your website’s indexing status using Google Search Console. This tool allows you to see which pages have been indexed and if there are any errors that might be preventing indexing. You can check the Coverage report in Google Search Console to see the status of your pages.
- If you see pages marked as "Discovered – currently not indexed," it means Google has found your pages but hasn’t indexed them yet. This can happen for various reasons, including content duplication or low domain authority.
- You can also use the URL Inspection Tool in Google Search Console to check the indexing status of specific URLs.
-
Indexing Both Versions: Regarding indexing both www and non-www versions of your website, it’s generally a good practice to choose one version as your preferred domain (canonical) and ensure that all links point to that version. You can set up a redirect from one version to the other to avoid duplicate content issues.
-
Patience is Key: Since it’s been more than three weeks, we recommend being patient as Google may take additional time to index all your pages. If you have not done so already, ensure that your website is not blocking Google from crawling it through your robots.txt file or any other settings.

Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please note that it is completely normal for newly published posts/pages to take time before they get crawled or indexed by Google. It depends on a lot of factors. Your posting frequency + the domain authority are just two of the many factors Google considers when indexing some new URLs.
Google assigns a crawl budget to your website depending on these factors (especially these two) and that has a direct effect on how soon or how late your content can get indexed.

https://rankmath.com/kb/google-index/However, we have another Instant Indexing for Google plugin that you can use to get your website’s pages and content crawled immediately: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-indexing-api/
Regarding the www and non-www versions of your website, you should index only one version otherwise it will create duplicate content issues on Google. Please select which version of your website you’ll index and the other version should redirect to the correct one.
Hope that helps and please don’t hesitate to let us know if you have any other questions.
Thank you.All right, thank you, but the aspect I am not really sure about is that when I go to Google search console directly and I put there some specific URL and ask for indexing, I can then see the status there. For example “Crawled – currently not indexed” or “Discovered – currently not indexed” so I can then see if I just need to wait or what else should I do. The problem is that I do not see such thing when I use the “Instant indexing” function in Rank Math SEO. So when I use the instant indexing function in Rank Math SEO for every page on my website, I cannot see the status. I expected that after the use of this function I would see the status in my Google search console, but not. It looks like your instant indexing function has nothing to do with the Google search console so I am not sure if I do something badly or I just don’t understand it properly. What I would do is go directly to the Google Search console and ask to index every possible link or page on my website, but I am not sure if Google Search Console provide this function. Do you understand my problem?
Hello,
The Instant Indexing that comes with Rank Math is for Bing and Yandex search engines, which is called IndexNow:
https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-use-indexnow/Google’s Instant Indexing is a separate plugin, and you may need to configure if first:
https://rankmath.com/blog/google-indexing-api/Regarding the status of your URLs, the “Crawled – currently not indexed” means Google has crawled your page but has not indexed it yet. Finding a certain number of URLs with this status is entirely normal because Google does not index all the URLs we submit.
This isn’t an error, but there are some reasons for excluding the pages from its index.

Yes thanks for the answer, but the plugin you are providing shows disclaimer that I should not use it for money websites and if I understand it correctly, I have e-shop which is a money website. So should I use it or not?
Hello,
You’re correct that our Instant Indexing for Google plugin does have a disclaimer advising caution when used on money websites, such as e-commerce sites. The reason for this is that the plugin utilizes the Google Indexing API, which is primarily intended for time-sensitive content, like job postings or live events.
Using this API for an e-commerce site or other types of content could lead to unpredictable results and potentially violate Google’s guidelines, which could affect your site’s ranking. Although we are yet to see a situation where this happened.
Here are a few suggestions:
– You can continue using the standard methods of indexing through Google Search Console. You can manually request indexing for specific URLs in Google Search Console, which will allow you to monitor the status (e.g., “Crawled – currently not indexed”).
– Ensure your site’s XML sitemap is submitted in Google Search Console. This helps Google discover and index your pages more efficiently. https://rankmath.com/kb/submit-sitemap-to-google/
– Most importantly make sure your site is optimized for crawling, including good internal linking, proper use of meta tags, and clean URL structures. This can help Google prioritize your pages for indexing. Review your site’s content and structure to ensure it meets Google’s quality guidelines, which can improve indexing speed and effectiveness.
Hope that helps, and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.
