Hello,
Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Can you please try to follow the steps below and see if that works for you?
1. Flush the Sitemap cache by following this video screencast:
https://i.rankmath.com/pipRDp
2. Exclude the Sitemap files of the Rank Math plugin in your caching plugin. The cache could be via a plugin or from the server. For plugins or Cloudflare, please follow this article:
https://rankmath.com/kb/exclude-sitemaps-from-caching/
3. If the above steps don’t seem to work, kindly apply the following filter code to your site.
add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');
Here’s how you can add filter/hook to your WordPress site:
https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/
Regarding the sudden traffic drop, we can suggest you to check if your website got hit by the Google algorithm update.
We have a full guide on that: https://rankmath.com/blog/google-algorithm-update-recovery/
Let us know how it goes.
Thank you.
Thanks Rakibuzzaman Siam,
I added filter in functions file and now all pages are showing in the sitemap.
Sorry I didn’t explain it properly.
The sudden drop of traffic is for web stories only, rest posts are unaffected.
I am unable to understand why only web stories are affected not rest of the website.
I am also working on improving speed of stories by removing unnecessary animation and videos. May be web stories traffic dropped due to slow speed.
Hello,
If the web stories are still indexed in the SERPs then here are a few possibilities for the drop in traffic:
1. Users might be consuming content differently than before, which could explain the drop in traffic for web stories. For example, users might be more interested in long-form content or videos than in web stories.
2. Search engines are constantly updating their algorithms, which could affect how web stories are ranked and displayed in search results.
3. There might be increased competition for web stories, which could make it harder for your web stories to stand out and attract traffic.
To pinpoint the exact reason why only web stories are affected, you may need to do some further analysis and research.
