I checked already in my theme editor header section I could not locate it then I try to put this code by myself in the header section but it still did not overwrite it

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the viewport scaling on your website. It sounds like you’re trying to adjust the “ tag to improve accessibility and core web vitals.

If you are unable to locate the existing viewport meta tag in your theme editor, it might be added dynamically by your theme or a plugin. Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this:

    1. Check Theme Settings: Some themes have settings that allow you to modify the viewport settings directly from the WordPress dashboard. Look for any options related to mobile settings or header settings in your theme customizer.

    2. Use a Child Theme: If you are comfortable with coding, consider creating a child theme and overriding the header.php file. This way, you can add your custom viewport meta tag without losing changes during theme updates.

    3. Plugins: If you are using any plugins that manage SEO or performance, they might be adding their own viewport settings. Check the settings of those plugins to see if there is an option to modify or disable the viewport meta tag.

    4. Custom Code: If you want to add your own code, ensure that it is placed correctly in the header section of your site. You can use a plugin like "Insert Headers and Footers" to add custom scripts or meta tags without modifying theme files directly.

Here’s an example of how your viewport meta tag should look:

If these steps do not resolve your issue, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!
