Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
I think you could use the Video Schema in your posts, since it will allow you to avoid issues with Google when using videos in your schema.
You can set it as I show you in the following screencast: https://i.rankmath.com/oCNoix
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
The way you informed me to add video schema is something I already knew. What I wanna know is if I have an article 1000 words long (because it’s a blog post). For this, the schema type would be ‘Article’.
But what if I wanna insert my own youtube video link into this same article (which already has text and images).
In this condition, what will be the schema type, is it ‘video’?
And if the schema of this post will be a ‘video’ than content URL (youtube video) and embed URL (youtube video) will remain the same. For example my own youtube video link.
I hope you got my question.
Hello,
Yes, in that case, you could still use the Video Schema since it will let Google know what to display in the Search Results (the video).
Usually the content URL is the link to the file and the embed URL is the link to display it embedded, but in your case, you could use the YouTube link in both cases or in the embed URL, “convert” your YouTube video URL to the embed format (as you can see here: https://wpexplorer-themes.com/total/docs/get-embed-urllink-youtube-video/).
Looking forward to help you.
Thanks for your email and this support.
I got a reply from Mr. Bhanu Ahluwalia and he updated me that-
“You can use Video Schema if the post is mostly about the video. If you wish to make your content rank rather than your video, then use Article Schema”
My question here is:
What if in the latter case to make content rank rather than video. If I use Article Schema then google will show errors for schema for video, for example
Missing field “description”
Missing field “uploadDate”
Either “contentUrl” or “embedUrl” should be specified,
whatever related errors.
Do let me know what could be the solution?
Hello,
If you check the option in Rank math metabox, in the advanced tab, you will note you can select only one schema type. It is either video or article. In a case where you select article, the video will be considered as another media file in the article content and no related schema errors will come up.
Hope that helps. If you have any further question(s), please let us know. Thank you.
Thanks for your reply. Now google search console is giving the following error:
Missing field “thumbnailUrl”
There is no option to insert the url of the thumbnail in the schema in the rankmath seo plugin in any particular post.
Hello,
1. Are you uploading a featured image to your post that has the Video Schema?
2. Are you filling all the details needed in the Video Schema fields offered in Rank Math?
3. Do you mind sharing a screenshot of the Video Schema settings backend?
We look forward to hearing back from you.
