Just updated to the latest version and my SEO scores all dropped by 5-6 points on average. Have you changed the bias of the SEO scoring?

Hello,
Thank you for contacting the support and we regret the inconvenience caused.
There were some reported issues that the scores were exceeding the upper limit of 100. We’ve fixed that issue in the latest update.
Also, in one of the recent updates, we added a new content analysis test to check if the content is optimized using Content AI or not. Here’s a guide regarding it: https://rankmath.com/kb/score-100-in-tests/#used-content-ai
You can also have a look at our changelog for a quick reference: https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/
These might be the reason for the drop in the SEO scores.
You can open the post and fix the listed issues to further optimize the content and increase the SEO score in turn.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
I can understand if you are trying to fix a recent issue but it is affecting fixed scores we had from 1-2 years ago so it is a bit deeper than that. It feels like you have arbitrability pushed all scoring down to account for the error.
Its a rather crude solution. And one that affects about 1200 of our posts.
Hello,
We apologize for the inconvenience.
If your Content AI test doesn’t help when optimizing your posts, you can use this filter to disable the Content AI test on your site:
https://rankmath.com/kb/disable-seo-content-tests/#content-ai-testYou won’t need to modify/customize the code and the filter should be added to your active theme’s functions.php file. Here’s another way to apply the filter using the rankmath.php file:
https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#adding-filters-and-hooks-in-rank-math-phpI hope that helps.
Thank you.
You have missed the point – both of you.
You have been presented with an issue where some sites are reporting scores of over 100.
Your fix was to push down every single post score for everyone instead of figuring out what was wrong with their issues.
Posts that I had a certain fixed SEO score for 2 years are now 3-4 points lower. That indicates you believe your scoring has been wrong right from the start.
And worse, the post admin page shows all the old scores for the posts but when I go into a post it shows the new lower score.
To get the admin backend Score looking the same as the in-post score I have to open up every single one and resave it again. That’s 1200 posts with 1200 new index requests which Google and more importantly myself, do not appreciate.
Seriously, it is a crude solution. Your coding changes are always far too extreme.
Hello,
The score change is happening because we introduced a new test. And since the maximum score is still 100 with a new test, the score for each individual test is decreased and that’s why you are seeing a drop in the SEO score.
If you use the filter provided by my colleague then the ContentAI test will be disabled and you will get almost the same score as you used to get before.
Hope this clarifies your doubts. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch in case you need any other assistance.
