URLs have /home inside, why?

#535599
  • I don’t get why my pages have /home inside of their urls.
The home page is startup-checklist.org, but it’s permalink is /guida-open-source-per-startup-digitali. Of course the home page does not show the permalink in the chrome bar.

A sub page called test should have the url startup-checklist.org/test but has startup-checklist.org/guida-open-source-per-startup-digitali/test as well as in the wordrpess page edit.

I think it has to do with redirection and canonical, because startup-checklist.org/test works and shows the page without changing the url in the chrome bar, but I do not find anywhere how to solve this issue.

    Thank you

    Hello,

I’ve checked your site, but I’m unable to replicate the URLs you mentioned with /home. I’ve also attached the link to edit your homepage, and it is not showing the /home in the URL/permalink field.

Could you please share where are you seeing those so we can check as well?

If you wanted to share screenshots, you can use this tool and add the link here.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

    /home was just an example.
The link of the actual homepage is: /guida-open-source-per-startup-digitali
You can check the problem going to /guida-open-source-per-startup-digitali/test/
If URL works correctly the link should be only /test

    Hello,

The temporary login you shared seems to have expired as I’m getting redirected to homepage.

Please update the temporary login in the sensitive section to further investigate the issue.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you

    Hello,

You have set the /test page as a child page of your homepage. You need to remove the page hierarchy for the /test page URL to work. To remove the parent page, go to the editor for the /test page and on the WordPress panel under “Page Attributes” click the “X” to remove the parent page. Screenshot:

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions.
