URL Redirect Issue

    I am trying to create a page with the url: https://whitneya4.sg-host.com/categories/gifts but it keeps changing it to https://whitneya4.sg-host.com/categories/gifts-2

    There are no other posts/pages using the URL: https://whitneya4.sg-host.com/categories/gifts (I went through them 1 by 1 and checked) so I don’t understand why it keeps doing this. When I type the url into the browser it redirects to the home page: https://whitneya4.sg-host.com/

    There are no redirects set up for this website either (it’s brand new) and the only setting in RankMath I see that might be doing this is under General Settings –> Redirect Orphan Images (that is set up to redirect to the home page).

    I looked at the Gifts image though and it does not follow the same url structure. Plus it ends in .png so I’m not sure what orphan image could be causing this. Do you know how I can find it?

    I tried removing that redirect in RankMath and clearing cache but it’s still redirecting to the home page when I type it into the browser. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    For initial troubleshooting, please check if this option is enabled in Rank Math > General Settings > Links

    Attachments

    If so, try disabling the option and check again if the issue persists.

    If it was fixed upon disabling that option, please check if you have an attachment with the same name as your URL(/gifts). You can reupload the media with a different file name or at least rename the attachment URL to a different slug.

    Once done, re-enable the redirect attachment options again.

    That worked! It was an image too. I didn’t realize it had a page url on top of the file url. Thanks so much!
