Hello. I can’t figure out how to set up Meta Robots. It seems that I have already put checkboxes on the index everywhere, but Google still does not want to index the page, referring to the noindex tag in robots txt

Hello. I’m sorry to hear about the issue you’re facing with Google not indexing your page due to the noindex tag in the robots.txt file. To resolve this, you need to ensure that the robots.txt file is not blocking Google from crawling the page.
Here’s how you can check and fix this:
-
Check if the URL is Blocked by robots.txt:
- You can use the HTTP Status Tester to debug the URL and see if it’s blocked by robots.txt.
- If the URL is blocked, you’ll need to edit the robots.txt file to remove or modify the instructions responsible for blocking Google. You can refer to this guide on how to edit robots.txt with Rank Math.
-
Ensure Meta Robots are Set Correctly:
- Open the post/page in WordPress Editor.
- Check the Rank Math Metabox and make sure the Robots Meta is set to Index instead of No Index.
- If you cannot find the Advanced tab in the Rank Math Metabox, enable the advanced mode from Rank Math SEO → Dashboard.
By following these steps, you can ensure that Google can crawl and index your page correctly. If you need further assistance, feel free to reply here. Thank you for reaching out!

Hello,
Please make sure you’re using the latest version of the Rank Math plugin on your website: https://rankmath.com/changelog/free/
After that, please check if there’s some security rule inside your
.htaccessfile which may prevent saving the settings. You can also use the default
.htaccessfile from here: https://wordpress.org/support/article/htaccess/Please do take a complete backup of your website before modifying your .htaccess as it is a sensitive file.
If the issue persists, you can follow this guideline to check if any of your plugins/themes are conflicting with Rank Math: https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/
Let us know how this goes.
