Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with the Instant Indexing feature and the 404 error. It sounds frustrating, especially if everything was configured correctly before.
Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the 404 error:
-
Check Your Web Server Settings: Ensure that your server is configured to return a 404 error for missing pages. If it’s not set up correctly, it may return a 200 status code instead, which can cause indexing issues. You might want to contact your web hosting provider to verify this.
-
Review Server Logs: Analyze your server logs to pinpoint any errors that may be causing the 404 response.
-
Check for Overload Signs: Look for signs of server overload, such as slow response times or high CPU usage, which could affect indexing.
-
Verify Settings: Ensure that your site’s PHP, database, and other relevant components are correctly configured.
If the problem persists after these checks, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.
Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention!
Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math support.
Getting the 404 error is possible if the page you’re attempting to get the status of is unknown to Google. In this case, you should try submitting the URL to Goole first.
If you’re still experiencing issues with this, please create a new ticket and share access to your website with us.
Best regards,
