    Dear Rank Math Support Team,

I have been a loyal user of Rank Math for many years, and I have always relied on it to help improve my website’s ranking. However, I am currently facing a serious issue that is severely impacting my site’s performance.

Since July of this year, I have noticed that both Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools are detecting thousands of non-existent pages on my website. After extensive troubleshooting and verification of my website’s setup, I have identified Rank Math as the source of this problem.

    Details of the Issue:

Both Google and Bing are detecting numerous pages that do not exist on my site.
This issue started suddenly in July and has continued to worsen.
My website is correctly configured, and I have ensured that there are no underlying issues with my site’s structure or settings.
This issue has negatively impacted my website’s ranking and overall SEO performance, contrary to the expected benefits of using Rank Math.

I am requesting your immediate assistance to resolve this issue. I am prepared to provide full access to my website if necessary for your team to investigate and correct this problem as soon as possible.

Your prompt response and action on this matter would be greatly appreciated, as the issue is urgent and has serious implications for my website’s SEO and traffic.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your swift resolution of this issue.

    Best regards,

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with Rank Math generating non-existent pages on your website. This can indeed be a serious concern, especially when it impacts your site’s performance and SEO.

To address this issue, we recommend checking the following:

    1. Redirects: Ensure that there are no incorrect redirects set up in Rank Math that might be causing these non-existent pages to appear.
    2. 404 Monitor: Check the 404 Monitor in Rank Math to see if there are any patterns or specific URLs that are being flagged as non-existent.
    3. Sitemap: Verify that your sitemap is correctly configured and does not include any URLs that should not be indexed.
    4. Crawl Errors: Use Google Search Console to identify specific crawl errors and see if they provide any insights into the non-existent pages.

If you have already checked these aspects and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket with any additional details or screenshots that might help us understand the situation better. A human agent from our support team will take over and assist you further.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we appreciate your patience as we work to resolve this matter promptly.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

It looks like the links were submitted by Rank Math’s Instant Indexing feature but our plugin doesn’t have any functionality to generate these links automatically on your website.

Can you please confirm if you have selected the Auto-Submit Post Types? If yes, the post will be automatically sent to the IndexNow API when a post is published, updated, or trashed.

However, you can use the URL inspection tool of your GSC account to check the URL and view the referring page to make sure from where it is coming.

Once you know the referring page, you can unlink or remove it so Google won’t discover it again.

Let us know how it goes. Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you.

Thank you for your prompt response and the suggestions provided. However, I would like to clarify that we do not have any pages or posts on our website that match the URLs being detected and indexed by Google and Bing. The links appearing in Google Search Console under “Pages with Redirect” do not exist on our site, and the number of these erroneous pages continues to increase.

We have already reviewed the Auto-Submit Post Types settings, and none of these non-existent pages are being published, updated, or trashed from our website. We also checked the URL inspection tool in Google Search Console, and there is no clear referring page that points back to our actual content.

Additionally, we have provided a screenshot from the Rank Math Redirect Monitor, which shows these mysterious redirects. We suspect there may be a potential vulnerability or bug within Rank Math that is causing this issue, and we are asking for your team to investigate this possibility.

Please take a closer look at the information and screenshots we have sent. We need a resolution as soon as possible, as this issue is significantly harming our website’s SEO and ranking. If necessary, we are willing to grant access to our website for further investigation on your end.

We appreciate your support and look forward to your swift response to help resolve this matter.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

Please share the screenshot of the result of the URL inspection from the reported links showing the referring page so we can check as well.

Meanwhile, you’re using Rank Math’s sitemap, but there’s another submitted sitemap in your Google Search Console account (?feed=xmlsitemap41).

Please remove it as you should only submit your main sitemap index (/sitemap_index.xml).

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
