    Hi Rank Math Team,

    I hope you’re doing well.

I am facing serious indexing issues on my website, and I’m reaching out for your assistance in resolving them. As per the attached screenshot from Google Search Console, a significant number of my pages are not being indexed. Here are the key issues reported:

Crawled – currently not indexed: 20,154 pages

Excluded by ‘noindex’ tag: 3,062 pages

    Not found (404): 1,840 pages

    Blocked by robots.txt: 377 pages

    Pages with redirect: 173 pages

Duplicate without user-selected canonical: 57 pages

    Access forbidden (403): 35 pages

Alternate page with proper canonical tag: 26 pages

    Server errors (5xx): 3 pages

Duplicate, Google chose different canonical than user: 1 page

The majority of my content is not getting indexed, especially the 20k+ pages that have been crawled but remain unindexed. This is directly impacting my website’s performance and visibility in search results.

Could you please review this situation and let me know:

If Rank Math settings could be contributing to this?

What changes or configurations I can implement to resolve these issues?

Any specific sitemap or meta settings I should check or adjust?

Your support would mean a lot in resolving this and helping my website rank better.

    Looking forward to your response.

    Best regards,
    [Gulshan Patel]

  • Hello,

We apologize for the serious indexing issues you are facing with your website. Thank you for providing detailed information about the problems reported in Google Search Console. Here’s a breakdown of how to address these issues:

    1. Crawled – Currently Not Indexed

This status indicates that Google has crawled your pages but has not indexed them. Here are some steps to consider:

    • Content Quality: Ensure that your content is unique, valuable, and comprehensive. Thin or duplicate content may lead to non-indexing.
    • Internal Linking: Make sure important pages have strong internal links from other relevant pages on your site. This can help Google understand the importance of these pages.
    • Time: Sometimes, new pages take longer to be indexed. If they are new, give it some time.

For more details on resolving this error, refer to our guide on Crawled – Currently Not Indexed.

    2. Excluded by ‘noindex’ Tag

Check if you intentionally set any pages to ‘noindex’. If not, you may need to remove the noindex tag from those pages.

    3. Not Found (404)

Review the URLs that are returning 404 errors. You can either fix the links or set up redirects to relevant pages.

    4. Blocked by robots.txt

Ensure that your robots.txt file is not blocking important pages. You can check this in your website’s root directory.

    5. Pages with Redirects

Make sure that the redirects are set up correctly and leading to relevant content.

    6. Duplicate Content Issues

For pages flagged as duplicates, consider adding canonical tags pointing to the original content. This helps Google understand which version to index.

    7. Server Errors (5xx)

Investigate the server errors and resolve any underlying issues causing these errors.

    8. Access Forbidden (403)

Check permissions for the affected pages to ensure they are accessible to search engines.

    Additional Recommendations:

    • Sitemap: Ensure your sitemap is updated and submitted to Google Search Console. It should include only the pages you want indexed.
    • Meta Settings: Review your Rank Math settings to ensure they align with your indexing goals. You can check the meta settings for each page/post in the Rank Math meta box.

If you would like a thorough review of your settings and assistance in implementing these changes, we recommend our Rank Math Professional Setup Service. This service requires a PRO subscription and is designed to ensure your plugin setup is fully correct and adheres to the latest SEO standards.
