Urgent Assitance Required for Sitemap Across Multiple Websites

    I am reaching out regarding a persistent issue with several of my websites in Google Search Console (GSC) related to their sitemaps. This problem has been ongoing for the past 30 days, and despite my efforts, I have been unable to resolve it.

    Here are the details of the issues:

    1. **athletefortune.com**: Both the sub-sitemap and pages have completely disappeared from GSC.
    2. **headtoheadmatch.com**: GSC shows the discovered URL total, but it is not updating. The sub-sitemap has also disappeared.

    Due to these issues, both of these websites have been removed from Google rankings entirely. None of my articles are ranking, which has been quite concerning as everything was functioning smoothly until this problem began.

    Additionally, my other websites – **cricsupp.com**, **cricgoogly.com**, and **sportsrings.com** – are showing “could not fetch” errors for pages and categories in their sitemaps.

    I have not installed any caching plugins, and I have already tried flushing the sitemaps by changing the total URLs in the post sitemap and saving the permalinks, but nothing has worked so far.

    I have been a satisfied Rank Math user for over three years, and this is the first time I have encountered such frustrating issues. I would greatly appreciate your prompt assistance in resolving this matter.

    Thank you in advance for your help, and I look forward to your response.

  • Hello,

    Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

    From your screenshot, it seems that you have submitted the /sitemap.xml

    Please remove all your submitted sitemaps and resubmit your main sitemap only /sitemap_index.xml

    Once done, give Google some time to recrawl your sitemap and update the “Last read” date column.

    Looking forward to helping you.

    Thank you for your response. It seems you may have only checked the sitemap for one website (athletefortune) where we briefly changed the SEO plugin for two days, but it has since been reverted back to Rank Math. You can view the sitemaps for our other websites at /sitemap_index.xml. We have taken all necessary actions on our end. Please take another look.

    Hi,

    “I just want to ask if there were any issues with the Rank Math sitemap in the previous updates. It seems like the majority of my websites are showing sitemap issues.

    Hello,

    Even though you’re not using caching plugins, it’s worth checking if there’s any caching happening at the server level that might be interfering with the sitemap updates.

    Try disabling the transient cache for the sitemap. This will make sure that your XML sitemap always reflects the latest changes on your site. Kindly add this code snippet to your site:

    /**
     * Filter if XML sitemap transient cache is enabled.
     *
     * @param boolean $unsigned Enable cache or not, defaults to true
     */
    add_filter( 'rank_math/sitemap/enable_caching', '__return_false');

    If you’re not sure how to add this code, you can follow this guide: https://rankmath.com/kb/wordpress-hooks-actions-filters/.

    After you add the code, please clear any cache on your site or server and submit your main sitemap again. If you’re still facing issues with the sitemap, please let us know – we are happy to investigate further.
