I’ve changed my site tagline but noticed it’s still showing when I perform my site SEO analysis.
I’ve checked and updated on Appearance> Customiser > Site Identity as well as WordPress General Settings but the old tagline still appears.
Please assist urgently.

Hello,
Thanks for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.
Please check your site with our external SEO Analyzer here: https://rankmath.com/tools/seo-analyzer/
If the changes are reflected there then flush the SEO Analysis data under Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools and run the SEO Analysis again.
That should resolve the issue. Let us know if it doesn’t. We are here to assist.
Tried that. Not sure if the flush ran as it literally took about a second when I clicked “Clear SEO Analysis”
Ran the SEO analyzer again – Old Tag line still displays.
Hello,
Can you please confirm if you checked with our external SEO Analyzer and were able to see the changes that you made?
If yes then we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/
You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/
We really look forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
Hello,
I have checked your live website tagline in the title and also checked with our external SEO Analyzer here: https://rankmath.com/tools/seo-analyzer/ And the it dose seems to have a updated title.
Here is the screenshot for your reference:
https://i.rankmath.com/Zo8tKnAlso, In your staging site you have turned on the
maintenance mode
and the same is reflected on the SEO analyzer tool.I hope that helps. Thank you, and looking forward to your update.
Unfortunately you have not read what my problem is. Please refer back to my original problem logged on this ticket. I want my tagline to be “Your Unique Boutique in Skincare & Wellness”
Its been updated in WordPress Settings and in the Site Identity under Appearance!
My problem is it’s referring to the old tagline “Your One-Stop Boutique in Skincare & Wellness”Seems Rank Math is overriding this setting somewhere. PLEASE look into this.
Hello,
I checked your homepage and found that the title is manually set on the homepage. Even after updating the title, The changes are not reflecting. After checking it, it seems you get the following error in the browser console when trying to save:
api-fetch.min.js?ver=134e23b5f88ba06a093f9f92520a98df:2 POST https://staging.nichevitality.com/wp-json/rankmath/v1/updateMeta?_locale=user 403
See the screenshot:
[Moved to Sensitive data section]Those errors usually are caused when something is blocking access to the WordPress API REST.
I would recommend contacting your hosting support, to check if something is blocking the WordPress API REST.
Looking forward to helping you.
Hello,
I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?
Thank you.
I have contacted Wordfence: See their response below:
This imight be due to the firewall seeing legitimate RankMath requests as being potentially malicious and blocking them. You can either add these requests to the allowlist via the Learning Mode feature or from the Tools >> Live Traffic tool page. Both allowlisting methods are described in our instructions in the link below:
I have since added the 403 Block to the Allowlist but the problem still persists.
Further to this I disabled the RankMath plugin and the problem went away. As soon as I enabled it – the problem came back.
Please see latest login details to my staging site in the sensitive area.
Thanks,
NishaHello,
We are so sorry about the issue you are facing while saving the SEO information. I have updated the plugin files, and the homepage is now saving. As usual, I have changed the title to the one you mentioned, and the same has been reflected in your live staging website.
Could you please check on your end?
Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.
Hi, I got a hold of my hosting company. See their response.

Hello,
From server logs, we could see few mod security rule errors.
Mod_Security is an open source intrusion detection and prevention engine for web applications. However, this filters posts, images and URLs for certain key words, and if they are found, spits out an error.
According to rules specified for ModSecurity on our servers, a pattern was detected in either your website files or code which prevented the files from loading initially.
Now I have disabled that particular mod_security rule for your domain. If you are again facing issues then please share exact steps to recreate the issue and admin panel login with us.
Seems the problem is resolved in the staging environment.
It’s now working in the staging Domain.
1. Were you able to make the change due to the changes made by the hosting company?
2. Please indicate how you changed the SEO plugin-in files in the staging environment so I can replicate the same on the live domain? Are you able to send me detailed instructions please.
Thanks
NishaHello,
I had already updated the plugin on your website when I replied. However, I was able to update the title as I have already written in my previous response. Well, If the hosting company also added the exception rule for the Rank Math, that is also a good thing since you will not face the issue regarding the 403 error while saving the meta data because sometime firewall or security software tend to block genuine request.
We hope that helps. We are here if you need us again.
Ankit, I dont think you understand what I’m saying. You updated the plug-in in my staging environment. The problem is still occurring in my live environment. How do I get this fixed?? Please get back to me ASAP
Hello,
Could you please confirm if you are on the latest version of the plugin?
Please note that the latest version is
v1.0.69.2
and if you are on previous version kindly update it and check, If the issue still persist, Clear the website cache and Rank Math Transients by going to Rank Math > Status & Tools > Database Tools > Remove transients
Then check them in an incognito window or hard refresh your browser cache:
Windows: Ctrl + F5
Mac/Apple: Apple + R or command + R
Linux: F5If the issue persist, We might need to take a closer look at the settings of your live website. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
We really look forward to helping you.
