Unknown redirect on child pages

    Hi Guys,

    I am working on an existing client’s website (built by another dev) which uses your plugin.

    I have a redirect issue where child pages are being redirected to the home page.

    I’ve checked and double checked the existing redirections and can not see anything which could cause this redirect.

    This is the staging site here – https://koolkidz864stg.wpenginepowered.com/

    When you open the menu and under locations select a location e.g Brighton it should take you here –

    https://koolkidz864stg.wpenginepowered.com/our-locations/brighton

    But this get’s redirected to the home page.

    I have the debugger enabled and it shows the redirection is happening, but there is no option to ‘Manage this redirection” only the option to “Manage all redirections”

    Please let me know what the cause of this issue might be.
    If needed I can provide backend access to the site.

    Please see login details above.

    There is a WP file manager plugin installed incase you need to access the file structure.

    Let me know if you speciufically need FTP and I can try to arrange

    Hi Guys,

    I have resolved the issue now and you can access the admin area of the site with the above details.

    The issue related to the ‘404 Monitor by Rank Math’ plugin which I have now disabled.
    fyi you can see debug log below

    You will now be able to login in with the above details to review the original issue.

    e.g pages like this https://koolkidz864stg.wpenginepowered.com/our-locations/brighton redirecting to the home page.

    Hello,

    Currently, those child pages are returning a 404 error so our plugin is picking that up and redirecting to the homepage to honor the settings under WordPress Dashboard > Rank Math SEO > General Settings > Redirections.

    We also have disabled the canonical redirect option from WordPress which was redirecting to the pages inside the Locations CPT and if you disable the option to redirect the 404 errors to the homepage you should see the 404 page appearing.
