  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention. I’m sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

For initial troubleshooting, please check your website’s root directory and find the sitemap_index.xml file. Once done, delete the file as Rank Math’s sitemap is generated virtually.

If the file is non-existent, please conduct a plugin/theme conflict on your site by following the steps here:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/check-plugin-conflicts/

Let us know how this goes.

    Thank you.

Thanks for the response. Obviously I couldn’t find the sitemap_index.xml file on my root directory. I also conducted the theme/plugin conflict check as explained in the post by enabling the health check and rank math plugin[throughout] while enabling my plugins one after the other across all my themes but no issue was found in the Notices tab.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

There seems to be malware on your site that is creating the sitemap and adding the spam links. If you visit the sitemap URL with the trailing slash, it is working fine: https://www.techafresh.com/sitemap_index.xml/

Please run a scan on your site and remove the malware to fix the issue.

    Hope this helps.

    Hello,
I was able to got it fixed after running a scan as directed. There was a malicious activity in relation to index.php on the site that was causing the problem.
    Thanks for your support.
