Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with submitting your sitemap to Google Search Console. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot the "Couldn’t fetch" error and ensure your sitemap is set up correctly:
1. Validate Your Sitemap
Make sure your sitemap is correctly configured by using the Validate XML Sitemap tool. Enter your sitemap URL and click VALIDATE SITEMAP. If there are no issues, you should see a success message.

2. Ensure the Sitemap is Located in the Root Folder
Your sitemap should be located in the root folder of your WordPress installation. The correct URL should look like this:
3. Check Your Posts’ Index Settings
If all your posts are set to noindex, your sitemap will be empty. To check this, go to Rank Math SEO → Titles & Meta and ensure that the Index checkbox is enabled in the Robots Meta settings.

4. Add the Correct Site URL to Google Search Console
Make sure you have added the correct site URL as a property in Google Search Console and verified it. You can refer to this article on adding a URL property to the Search Console.
5. Submit the Sitemap Again
Once you’ve confirmed everything is set up correctly, navigate to Indexing → Sitemaps in Google Search Console, paste your sitemap URL in the Add a new sitemap field, and click SUBMIT. Ensure there are no spaces in the URL.
If you continue to experience issues, it may take some time for Google to fetch your sitemap, or there could be other underlying issues that need addressing. Please feel free to reply to this ticket if you have further questions or need additional assistance, and a human agent from our support team will assist you.
