Two versions of website

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with having two versions of your website in Google Search Console. This situation arises because Google treats www.appsreviewnest.com and appsreviewnest.com as separate entities. To resolve this, you need to set up a redirect from one version to the other, ensuring that all traffic is directed to your preferred version.

    Here’s what you can do:

    1. Choose Your Preferred Version: Decide whether you want to keep the www version or the non-www version as your primary site.

    2. Set Up 301 Redirects: You will need to create 301 redirects from the version you do not want (e.g., if you choose non-www, redirect www.appsreviewnest.com to appsreviewnest.com). This can typically be done in your .htaccess file if you are using an Apache server. Here’s a helpful guide on how to redirect www URLs to non-www or vice versa.

    3. Update Google Search Console: After setting up the redirects, make sure to verify your preferred version in Google Search Console and submit the sitemap for that version. You can find your sitemap at `https://www.siteground.com/kb/how_to_redirect_www_urls_to_nonwww/.

    4. Check for Canonical Tags: Ensure that your pages have the correct canonical tags pointing to your preferred version. Rank Math makes it easy to manage canonical URLs, which helps Google understand which version to index.

Good afternoon! Nothing changes. I then selected the non-www version, added the code you specified to the .htaccess file, checked the canonical tag, but several days have passed and nothing has changed. Also two versions of the site. If necessary, I can provide screenshots, but I don’t know how to attach them to the message here.

    Hello,

We’ve checked your site using https://httpstatus.io/, and all the versions are already redirecting to https://appsreviewnest.com.

If you have a WWW version in your Google Search Console properties, then you can safely remove/delete it.

Once done, verify your website’s final version (HTTPS non-WWW) by following this guide:
    https://rankmath.com/kb/google-site-verification/#num-1-1-open-google-search-console

    prefix

The URL-prefix property also helps keep your sitemap in sync with Google Search Console as we submit it automatically for you. In addition, the domain property won’t work correctly on some sections of the Analytics module such as the IndexStatus.

    Looking forward to helping you.
