    Hi,

Using WPML Media translation, i translated the Facebook OG Image belonging to a blog item. Everywhere in the website, the translation of images works correctly, but when trying to translate the Facebook OG Image, the image is not displayed as translated.

    In WPML settings:
    rank_math_facebook_image, rank_math_facebook_image_id & rank_math_facebook_image_overlay

=> When set to “translate”: it’s possible to enter manually a different image, but this is not optimal, since it should take the translated image from WPML Media translation

=> When set to “Copy”: the image is not translated, it uses the original image

=> When set to “Don’t translate”: the image is not translated, it uses the original image

What is the correct setting to have a separate OG image for each language please?

    Sincerly yours.

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math for help with your Facebook og:image translation. I am not sure what you are asking but I’ll do my best to address your issue.

If I understand correctly, you have set an image for the translated page of a post, and would like Rank Math to automatically pick it up? If that is the case, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Can you please check further?

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thank you for the additional data and the video which demostrated the issue. I was able to log into your site and replicate the issue.

While you set the images in the WPML Translation editor, they were not set in the WordPress editor for each language. I opened the editor on the test post for the NL version and there was no Featured Image set. Rank Math uses the WordPress featured image field to set the og:image. When I updated the featured image, the translation image you set was automatically applied. I have added a video to sensitive data to show how I updated the image.

Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have questions. We are here to help.

    That’s clear, thank you!
