TOC Block not working properly when in a template

    Rank Math free

    Hello,
I recently made the switch to a full site editing theme. As such I wanted to add the Rank Math TOC block to the top of every blog post so I simply added it to the blog single post template. The issue is it now is only recognizing headers that are apart of the template itself rather than the actual post content. Please let me know if there is a fix for this or if it is fixed in a later update.

    To easily reproduce this issue:
    1 – Use a FSE theme
    2 – Install rankmath
3 – Add the table of contents block to a page template (that also contains the “content” block)
4 – Check page’s TOC and it will only show those that are in the template, not those that are in the content itself.

    thank you.

and on another note, I would loveeeee support for ACF Blocks in Preview mode to be picked up by the content analysis filter if possible 🙂

  • Hello,

Thank you so much for getting in touch.

What you’re seeing is expected behavior as the TOC block currently only works when added directly within the post content itself, not in templates. We’re aware of the use case and will consider improvements in future updates.

We’ve also noted your feedback about ACF Blocks in Preview mode.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
