Hello,
We apologize for the issue you are facing with Google indexing the WordPress title instead of the title set in the Rank Math snippet editor. This can happen for several reasons, and it’s not uncommon. Here are some steps you can take to ensure that your Rank Math settings are correctly configured:
-
Check What You Have Set Using Rank Math: Make sure that you have correctly set the SEO Meta Title in the Rank Math snippet editor. You can refer to the following images for guidance:
- Classic Editor:

- Gutenberg:

-
Ensure Your Schema Settings Are Valid: Check that the settings in Rank Math’s Schema tab for your post or page are correct. The Headline should show %seo_title% and the Description should show %seo_description%. This ensures that your SEO title and description are used for structured data as well.

-
Check the Title Set in the Page’s Source Code: Verify that the title you set in Rank Math is reflected in the page’s source code. You can do this by right-clicking on your page and selecting View page source. Alternatively, you can use an online tool like HeyMeta to check.

-
Consider Google’s Indexing Behavior: Sometimes, Google may choose to display a different title based on its algorithms, even if you have set it correctly in Rank Math. This is a common occurrence and can depend on various factors such as relevance to search queries.
If you’ve checked all these settings and are still experiencing issues, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

I checked all those settings seems to be correct on my end.
Hello,
You can also verify the title and description meta tags for those URLs if they are already set:

If the title/description is already set in the page’s source code, please note that Google and other search engines sometimes ignore the custom meta info altogether and show something from the page’s content that matches the search intent better.
