Please clear your website cache, ensure that your sitemap pages are not heavily cached by following this guide, and resubmit your sitemap in your Google Search Console again.

Hi thanks for the reply. I followed the guide. And I added the new rule in the htacces. For the moment I have no cache plugin (I am thinking of having wp roket, so I will follow your gfuida) how can I now verify that the sitemap is excluded from the cache, as the guide says? Sorry but I didn’t understand this step.

I checked the sitemap, it is not getting cached now.

You can check that using the browser developer tools > network tab.
You can resubmit the sitemap_index.xml
in the Search Console.
I have checked the URLs, they are all set to index.
Please submit the URLs for validation in the Search Console.

ok, return all sitemap to search console then. Don’t I have to do anything else? Should I get rid of the old one?

Please remove all the sitemaps from your Google Search Console account and then submit only the main sitemap (sitemap_index.xml
).
Once done, please give Google some time to crawl the website again and see if the issue gets fixed.
