I copied the Rank Math FAQ block from one of my pages and pasted it into the categories. I notice that in the code there is the id and the number.

Out of curiosity, I copy another FAQ block and the id is different.

How can I get the block for the FAQ without ID?

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and bringing your concern to our attention.

The first thing to note is that the FAQ Schema is no longer applicable to most websites as Google has made some changes to this recently mentioned here: https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2023/08/howto-faq-changes

So, for most websites there won’t be a need to have an FAQ and you should stop focusing on adding that as it won’t result in Rich Results for your pages.

If you’ve noticed your FAQs and HowTo guides aren’t showing up as before, here’s what’s going on:

Google will now show FAQs mainly for well-known government and health websites. If your site isn’t in these categories, your FAQs might not appear.

Regarding your concern, the block comes with its unique ID, which is why you could see a broken block when you copy an HTML from one block to another page’s block.

The effective way to re-use a block is to make use of WordPress’s Reusable block: https://www.pair.com/support/kb/gutenberg-editor-how-to-create-reusable-blocks/

    Hope that helps.

    Thank you.

My site is about free online games. I just started adding the FAQ outline and what you say perplexes me.

I found the FAQ outline on Google very useful and would go and read the articles. For me it is an experiment that they do and they will go back to implementing them again.

the FAQ scheme on Google is one of the implementations I liked the most. The rich snippets with stars also had to be removed, but I managed to apply them on my site.

Currently there are still other people’s FAQs on Google.

    Hello,

The FAQs are going away from Google very soon and a lot of people that previously had those Rich Snippets are already seeing them being removed.

Obviously, this is not done overnight and it takes time but the guidelines from Google are definitely being enforced so unless your website falls under one of the categories mentioned in the article we shared, you won’t get the Rich Snippets for this type of Schema markup.

Regarding the question about the block ID, that is not possible as the ID is important for our plugin to generate the correct Schema markup from the block when the page is loaded.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

the site does not fall into the categories mentioned, but Google will certainly return to the previous version. it’s too convenient to have the FAQ on the search engine.

Could you add the FAQ block functionality to convert text into your blocks? It takes a long time for conversion.

Ah, if they are removing the FAQ, how come I have 1 FAQ on Search Console? ;P I’ll have more on Search Console soon.

    Hello,

As we have mentioned already, the removal of FAQs from the SERP will not happen to all sites right away.

With that said, it is still fine to add the FAQ schema if you feel convenient to do so.

Could you add the FAQ block functionality to convert text into your blocks? It takes a long time for conversion.

Unfortunately, we don’t have this feature, and we have no immediate plans for adding such functionality.

We are looking forward to helping you.

Is it a good idea to put images in FAQ blocks? Can I have the image featured and automatically inserted into all FAQs?

    Hello,

The featured image is something that is only available in the posts and not the categories so unless you are using the block inside the posts this is not possible.

To add the image dynamically inside the posts you can use the variable %post_thumbnail%.

Please note that if you copy the content from the block and paste it into the categories the image will fail.

In any case, this is simply too much hassle around FAQ Schema for something that is no longer in effect.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Sorry, I not have understood. I can use your blocks on categories too, thank theme full block. ;P

Why I should put for each FAQ, variable? I do same thing adding image… It’s a bit faster your solution, but a bit. Maybe I’ve missunderstood. Where should add this variable?

    Hello,

You asked about adding a featured image to the FAQs and the featured image is a feature of the posts and not taxonomies, hence the reply we gave about the variable.

If you want to add an image manually to the FAQ Block you can do so on every page where the block is present.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

    Hello,

Since we did not hear back from you for 15 days, we are assuming that you found the solution. We are closing this support ticket.

If you still need assistance or any other help, please feel free to open a new support ticket, and we will be more than happy to assist.

    Thank you.
