    Re domainproperty:proudpupmedia.com

I’m unable to connect Google Search Console now. II noticed this error on staging but thought that because staging isn’t connected to GSC it didn’t matter that it was authorized. The connection was working on the live site before I pushed staging to live, in Siteground. I updated the cache manually but nothing changed.

I updated the property in GSC to ‘domainproperty:proudpupmedia.com yesterday which may be why this is happening. My GSC account is active and functioning properly.

I backed up plugin setting, exported settings, deleted the plugin, reinstalled, imported settings, and still the same error.

    This is the error >>

The data sets are empty in your cache. You can wait for the next cronjob (08/03/2020 00:00:00) or Update Manually.

Note: Please update your data by clicking on ‘Update Manually’. Google only stores data from the last 90 days – a dataset older than that can’t be updated anymore.

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please make sure that the account you used to Authorize the Google search console is the same that is marked as the owner of the website you expect to find in the drop-down.

You should also ensure that cron events are enabled on your site. You can check if this is the case by getting in touch with your host?

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

It seems that the cron job issue resolved on its own. But my site is being blocked in robots.txt although this file isn’t one in the root folder of my site. My server can’t find the issue.

in rankmath this is all there is in robots.txt

    User-agent: *
    Disallow: /

Is this an issue with google?

    Hello Lee-anne,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

I have checked your robots.txt file and it should be okay as it is, unless you need to add custom restrictions in which case I would recommend you seek advice on what restrictions you should add and how you should go about it.

I hope this helps. Thank you.

My server changed the robot.txt file yesterday to fix this issue. In Rankmath, the default setting was to no index the site. I don’t know why this is.

In robots.txt my sitemap is now listed.

Before that, in rankmath the sitemap was disallowed. I have no idea why this happened as I didn’t edit robots.txt in Rankmath nor was there a robots.txt in the root folder.

The error seemed to occur when pushing the site from staging to live. After the push, Google Search Console wasn’t connecting to rankmath and Google deindexed my site for more than a day.

I am going to be working on a staging copy of the site again and so will need to push changes. I hope the same issue doesn’t occur.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for the follow up.

I am glad that you have been able to resolve both issues.

Feel free to contact us for any other questions. Thank you.
