Rank Math does not add a 404 page template, it is likely that this is loaded by your theme and you will need to get in touch with your theme author so that they can advise on this.

I have a separate 404 page in the theme and it works.
In Yoast, the page title was set in the plugin (as in Rank Math). This was then translated as a string in WPML.
The string of Rank Math also appears in WPML … but not in the frontend!

In Rank Math, we handle the string translation in a different way. For each language, you can add the title and description in the Settings fields itself, there is no need for adding it from the String translation menu of WPML. Please check the screencast I added in the Sensitive Data Section.
