Tables created in DB

Hello, I was checking the db tables in one of my sites and noticed tables created that look like they are for some of the settings that can be enabled. The issue is that I don’t have these setting enabled so why are there tables created that have data in them? For example…

    wp_rank_math_internal_links InnoDB utf8mb4_unicode_ci 114,688 16,384 0 36,917 ~ 463

    wp_rank_math_sc_analytics InnoDB utf8mb4_unicode_ci 146,472,960 113,246,208 5,242,880 1,712,463 ~ 1,459,756

I don’t have RankMath set to check internal links NOR do I have it attached to my GSC.

Can you provide some info about that?

    Thanks,
    Andrew

  • Hello,

Thank you for contacting the support, and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

When installing Rank Math for the first time, the Analytics and Link counter are usually enabled by default, this could be the reason the tables were created.

Can you please make sure that you have disabled these modules under Rank Math > Dashboard > Modules?

If you have already disabled the modules and the database tables are still populating, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress & FTP logins in the designated Sensitive Data section.
    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,

I have updated the sensitive data as requested. Those items are unchecked – I make sure to uncheck them on every site after install…if there are two features that should NOT be on by default then those would good choices.

    Thank you.

    Hello,

Thanks for getting back to us.

The table wp_rank_math_sc_analytics is an old table that we used on a previous iteration of the plugin and it no longer gets created for new installations of the plugin.

As for the other table that is created by default in the installation because that module is enabled by default and we can’t change that functionality because that would require some fundamental changes to the plugin. But if you don’t intend to use that feature you can safely disable the module and remove the table from the database.

Hope this helps clarify the situation further.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the response! So to confirm the following tables CAN be deleted without causing any issues if we are not using those features?

    rank_math_analytics_gsc

    rank_math_analytics_objects

    rank_math_internal_links

    rank_math_internal_links_meta

    rank_math_sc_analytics

    Hello,

That’s correct! If you are not using any of those modules/features you can safely remove the database tables from your installation.

If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.
