Hello,
I read your help files about table of contents detection if not using a plugin, and the workaround is to at some code into the functions.php file or rank-math.php file.
But quite frankly, I just don’t understand what’s so complicated about your tool being able to detect a Table of Contents that was created without a plugin. Because with the advent of Gutenberg Blocks, it’s widely known that many WordPress users now simply create a table of contents using anchor text/jump links that are real easy to create now in the block editor.
Furthermore, every one of these types of table of contents that I’ve seen always has the words “Table of Contents” right there big in a title tag over the series of anchor links, so you can’t miss it. So I don’t see why your tool can’t be smart enough to detect a heading appearing at (or near) the top of a page, followed by a series of anchor links. Hmmm, what else could that be??? Oh, a table of contents!
This is just my opinion. This just made your tool/technology seem a bit dated to me in this area. Perhaps it’s time for an update – because Gutenberg is really eliminating the need for things like a Table of Contents plugin.
