  • Hello, we apologize for the issue you are facing with the Table of Contents block not populating. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:

    1. Check Headings: Ensure that you have properly formatted headings (H2, H3, etc.) in your blog post. The Table of Contents block automatically generates entries based on these headings.

    2. Settings Review: Click on the Table of Contents block and navigate to Settings. Make sure that you have not excluded any headings from appearing in the table. You can find this under Block → Settings → EXCLUDE HEADINGS.
      Exclude Headings in TOC settings

    3. Plugin Conflicts: Sometimes, other plugins may conflict with Rank Math. You can refer to our guide on diagnosing plugin conflicts to see if this might be the case.

    4. Known Issues: There is a known bug where higher-level headings may disappear if a lower-level heading is added before it. We are working on resolving this in a future update. You can monitor our changelog here for updates.

If you’ve checked all of these and the issue persists, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further. Thank you for raising this concern!

I have tried these troubleshooting and it still doesn’t seem to be working for me.

    Hello,

Thank you for your query and we are so sorry about the trouble this must have caused.

Apart from the Block editor from WordPress, do you have any other custom blocks or templates integrated into the editor?

If there aren’t any, we might need to take a closer look at the settings. Please edit the first post on this ticket and include your WordPress login in the designated Sensitive Data section.

Please do take a complete backup of your website before sharing the information with us.

    Sensitive Data Section

It is completely secure and only our support staff has access to that section. If you want, you can use the below plugin to generate a temporary login URL to your website and share that with us instead:

    https://wordpress.org/plugins/temporary-login-without-password/

You can use the above plugin in conjunction with the WP Security Audit Log to monitor what changes our staff might make on your website (if any):

We really look forward to helping you.

    Hello,
