Support for Custom Image Directory (/images) in FAQ & How-To Schema

    Hello,

I’ve changed the default image upload path and now store my images under a custom directory: /images/content/xxx. These images were uploaded via FTP and have been properly registered in the WordPress Media Library. As a result, the image URLs appear as /images/content/xxx, and I can insert them into posts using the Gutenberg editor without any issues.

However, when I try to use these images in Rank Math’s FAQ or How-To schemas by selecting them from the Media Library, the images are not actually included in the schema output. Although the UI shows them as selected, they don’t appear in the final HTML. I believe Rank Math is automatically generating the image URL using the default /wp-content/uploads/ path instead of using the actual image URL from the Media Library.

I would like Rank Math to recognize and allow images from the /images/ directory to be used in schema markup. Is there a way to achieve this?

    Thank you in advance!

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with using images from your custom directory in Rank Math’s FAQ and How-To schemas. Thank you for raising this concern.

Currently, Rank Math may not support custom image directories directly for schema markup, as it typically relies on the default /wp-content/uploads/ path for images. Unfortunately, there isn’t a built-in option to change this behavior within the plugin settings.

As a workaround, you can manually add the image URLs to your schema markup. Here’s how you can do that:

    1. Open the Rank Math Metabox: Navigate to the post where you want to add the FAQ or How-To schema.
    2. Select the Schema Type: Choose the appropriate schema type (FAQ or How-To) in the Rank Math metabox.
    3. Manually Add Image URLs: In the relevant sections of the schema, you can paste your custom image URLs directly into the fields provided for images.

This way, you can ensure that the correct image URLs are included in the final output.

If you require more advanced assistance or if this issue persists, we recommend considering our professional setup service, which is available for users with a PRO subscription. You can find more information about this service at Rank Math Professional Setup Service.

We hope this helps! If you have any further questions or need additional assistance, please reply to this ticket, and a human agent from our support team will assist you further.

Also, I’m already a Pro user of Rank Math.
I would really appreciate a solution or official guidance on how to make this work.
How can I properly enable support for custom image directories in schema output?

    Thank you!

    Hello,

This issue has already been fixed with the last update of Rank Math, so please update the plugin (if not yet):

Also, you mentioned that you’re using Rank Math PRO, but the account you used to open this ticket is the Rank Math free version.

Can you please search and forward a receipt from FastSpring.com or the email address you used to purchase so we can locate your account and verify it?

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hello, it may not be visible because I have not connected my website to my account. You have reported that the problem was solved with the latest update, but unfortunately I am using the latest version of rank math and the problem persists even though there is no pending update. To summarize my problem exactly; I am using the Rank-Math ready FAQ template in a content and I select the image from the library with the Add Image option, the image is considered uploaded but it is not uploaded and does not appear. This problem only applies to special folders, namely the /images folder. I do not have this problem with an image in the /wp-content/uploads folder. The problem is not general, it is caused by rank math, I am sure of this because I do not have any problems adding any images in the gutenberg editor. My website: lasiksurgery.info

    Hello,

After you changed your upload location, can you please confirm if you also applied the following code to your WordPress’s wp-config.php file?

    define('UPLOADS', 'images/content');

    Looking forward to helping you.
