  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with the sudden drop in visibility of your page. A drop in visibility can be caused by several factors, and it’s important to investigate them thoroughly.

Here are some common reasons that could lead to a decrease in visibility:

    1. Algorithm Updates: Google frequently updates its algorithms, which can affect your site’s ranking. You can check if your drop correlates with any recent updates by reviewing the Google Algorithm Update Recovery guide.

    2. Indexation Issues: Ensure that your pages are indexed properly. You can monitor your site’s indexation status using the Google Search Console or the Index Status report in Rank Math’s Analytics. To access this, navigate to Rank Math SEO → Analytics in your WordPress dashboard and click on the Index Status tab.

    3. NoIndex Tags: Check if any of your pages have been marked as ‘NoIndex’. You can do this by navigating to Settings → Reading in your WordPress admin dashboard and ensuring that the Search engine visibility option is unchecked.

    4. Duplicate Content: If you have multiple pages with similar content, Google may penalize your site for duplicate content. Make sure all content is original and relevant. You can use canonical tags to indicate the preferred version of a page if necessary.

    5. Manual Actions: Check for any manual actions taken against your site in Google Search Console under the Manual Actions report. If there are any messages, it indicates that your site has been penalized.

If you have checked these aspects and still cannot identify the cause, we recommend replying to this ticket with more details, and a human agent from the Rank Math Support team will assist you further.

Thank you for raising this concern, and we hope to help you resolve it soon!

I think the visibility change can be dated on 19.12.2024 instead which was also the start day of Google search spam update. I don’t have any manual actions or security issues in GSC, everything is indexed but can be searched only by url

    Hello,

Since the drop coincides with the Google Search Spam Update and there are no manual actions or security issues in GSC, it’s likely your site was impacted by the update.

    We recommend:

    – Reviewing Google’s Spam Policies to ensure compliance.
    – Checking your backlink profile for low-quality links.
    – Improving content quality by ensuring originality and relevance.
    – Monitoring rankings and traffic over the next few weeks, as updates can take time to stabilize.

There are a few things you have to keep in mind when using any SEO plugin, not just Rank Math.

    1. An SEO plugin alone cannot bring down or bring up the traffic in a day (or even a few days) unless incorrect Meta Tags are used by setting up the plugin improperly. That’s why we have a detailed tutorial on that:

    2. All the SEO plugins add Meta tags for the search engines which can be checked by viewing the source of a page. For instance, here:

Other popular plugins generate similar tags:

And with the Rank Math plugin, additional tags are added to a page so search engines can understand the content on a website better.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
