Sudden Drop in Site Performance & New Products Not Indexed by Google

#1080157
  • Dear Rank Math Support Team,

I hope this message finds you well.

We have recently noticed a sudden drop in the performance and indexing status of our website (store33.gr). Specifically, our new products are not being indexed by Google, and they do not appear in search results. This issue started occurring quite abruptly and is seriously affecting our site’s visibility and traffic.

We have reviewed our settings and did not make any significant changes that could explain this behavior. Could you please help us investigate if this might be related to Rank Math or if there is any known issue affecting indexing with your plugin?

We would appreciate any guidance or support you can provide to resolve this issue quickly.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

  • Hello,

We apologize for the issue you are facing with your website’s performance and the indexing of new products. It’s important to address these concerns promptly to ensure your site’s visibility and traffic are not adversely affected.

Here are a few steps you can take to investigate the indexing issue:

    1. Check Google Search Console: Use Google Search Console to monitor your website’s indexation status. Look for any errors that Google has encountered while trying to crawl and index your site. This tool can provide insights into why your new products are not being indexed.

    2. Use Rank Math’s Index Status Report: You can also check the Index Status report in Rank Math’s Analytics. Navigate to Rank Math SEO → Analytics in your WordPress dashboard, then click on the Index Status tab. This will show you the real data/status of your pages and their presence on Google.

    3. Content Duplication Issues: Ensure that there are no content duplication issues on your site, as Google penalizes websites with duplicate content. If you find any duplicates, consider adding canonical URLs pointing to the original content you want to index.

    4. Crawl Budget Issues: If your website has many low-quality pages, it might affect how often Google crawls your valuable pages. Ensure that your internal linking structure is strong to help Google discover all important pages.

    5. New Website Considerations: If your website is relatively new, it may take some time for Google to index all pages. Be patient, as indexing can sometimes take longer for new sites.

If you continue to experience issues after checking these points, we recommend replying to this ticket so a human agent from our support team can assist you further with a more in-depth investigation.

Thank you for bringing this concern to our attention, and we look forward to helping you resolve it quickly!

Reply to Rank Math Support Ticket:

    Hi again,

    Thank you for the response.

We have thoroughly reviewed all the points mentioned — including Search Console indexing reports, Rank Math’s Index Status tab, internal linking, sitemap validity, crawl budget, and possible duplication or canonical issues.

Despite all checks showing everything is set up correctly, Google is still not indexing our newly added product pages, even after weeks. The pages are linked internally, listed in the sitemap, and there are no crawl or coverage errors. Yet, they remain in the “Discovered – currently not indexed” state in Search Console.

Our website (store33.gr) is not new and has maintained solid indexing and rankings until recently. This issue began suddenly, without any recent major changes on our side.

Could you please escalate this to a human support agent to help us look deeper into what may be causing the problem?

Thanks again for your time — we appreciate your help.

    Best regards,
    MR.Spyros Manager Netcloud.gr

    Hello,

Please note that the status “Discovered – currently not indexed” indicates Google has discovered the page, and even wants to crawl the page. But this was expected to cause an overload on the site, hence Google has rescheduled the crawl.

As a result, Google may delay this crawl for several days after it has been discovered, and the crawl status will remain empty until then.

Here’s a link for more information:

Also, Google releases a new algorithmic update several times a month, and there is a good chance that your website was affected by it.

We have a full guide on that:

And if you’re using Rank Math PRO, you can see if the drop in traffic correlates to an algorithm update:

    Looking forward to helping you.

Hi again and thank you for your continued assistance.

We’ve already reviewed the documentation regarding “Discovered – currently not indexed” and we fully understand that some delays in crawling can be normal.

However, in our case, this behavior has been persisting for several weeks now, affecting all newly published product pages, even though:

Our website (store33.gr) has a solid history, is well-established and not newly launched

Pages are internally linked, included in the sitemap, and submitted in Search Console

No crawl errors or performance issues exist

The server response time is consistently fast with no overload history

Indexing issues began abruptly and coincide with a sudden drop in visibility

We have also reviewed the possible impact of recent Google algorithm updates, but the symptoms appear more technical than algorithmic. Specifically, Google discovers the new pages instantly but never crawls them, even after weeks.

Given that, we’re concerned there might be a plugin-related issue or conflict — possibly with how metadata or canonical URLs are being handled.

Could we please escalate this issue to a technical support agent for a more in-depth review? We’re using Rank Math PRO and would truly appreciate any advanced troubleshooting help you can offer.

    Best regards,

    Hello,

We checked the affected pages you shared, but we couldn’t find any technical issue in the page source that would hinder it from indexing on the SERP.

You can see fromn this screenshot that the page is valid for search indexing:

Please note that Google doesn’t always disclose the exact reason for not indexing content, and in such cases, there may be little we can do from a plugin perspective unless the content is of high quality and follows Google’s guidelines.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if you have any other questions.
