    Hi Douglas,

Thanks for getting in touch with us.

Since it is on a sub-domain – it will not dilute your ranking or authority.

You can keep them indexable but only if you expect search traffic to arrive on those pages.

Hope that helps and please do not hesitate to let us know if you need our assistance with anything else.

    Many thanks for your reply

You can keep them indexable but only if you expect search traffic to arrive on those pages.

In so far as there are many links from the main domain to the subdomain, does that mean search traffic will filter through? Does that matter?

I wish I knew more about all this!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.

Yes the search traffic will pass on to the sub domain pages.
Search engines will reward websites that possess internal links on the pages.

Looking forward to helping you. Thank you.

Yes but what I dont understand is if some search traffic from the main website passes onto the sub domain is that bad or good (given that as I explained above about the subdomain consists of websites of images only), ie VERY thin content.

    Maybe it doesnt matter

    Hi Douglas,

    Thanks for the reply.

This is a good thing since the thin content is not on the main website. Alternatively, you can have the links coming from the sub domain linking to the main website so that no links juice is shared downwards.

I hope this info helps. Thank you.

    Thanks for all your help
