Strip category not redirecting

Hey,

I stripped the category base, but nothing is redirecting now to anywhere but my homepage. Please advise.

Example: https://www.travelherstory.com/travel-tips/movies-set-in-europe-watch-before-travel/

I already have autopost redirect on.

Edit: I had it set to /%category%/%postname% before, and swapped it to post name to get the link to change. I’ve changed it back for the time being so people stop being redirected to my homepage, but please advise how I can do this correctly.

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and sorry for any inconvenience that might have been caused due to that.

Please note that the Strip Category Base option only removes the /category/ base from your category URLs, which is added from WordPress by default. It doesn’t remove your parent category slug from your URLs.

Also, the Auto Redirect option in Rank Math only works when you change the slug of a post/page. It will not work if you change the permalink structure of your website or change the category slug.

In such cases, you’ll have to create the redirection manually on your website: https://rankmath.com/kb/how-to-create-a-redirection/
