Hello,
Thank you for contacting Rank Math today.
Those breadcrumbs on the KB section come from a different plugin than Rank Math. They come from the KB plugin we use which is this one: https://herothemes.com/plugins/heroic-wordpress-knowledge-base/
Basically what the breadcrumbs show is the archive page for the KB articles, then shows the main category of the article, and lastly the article itself.
That is a very similar method to what we do in our plugin in terms of breadcrumbs.
Please note that “KB” is not a category but rather an archive page for all the KB articles. In the same way the blog page is usually the archive page for posts on WordPress.
Don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any other questions.
That would still be a parent category to the ‘SEO Suite’ subcategory no? If it were just an archive page then how did you include it before the article in your URL without it being a parent category?
How were you able to strip the ‘SEO suite’ subcategory from the URL so it shows rankmath.com/kb/how-to-noindex-paginated-pages/ but still shows the ‘SEO Suite’ inside of the breadcrumbs?
Hello,
No, that is not a parent category. As we mentioned before the “KB” section is the main archive for this post type.
This is the same way we apply this for the blog articles in our breadcrumbs where you have the option of enabling that in the settings.
Also, these breadcrumbs come from the plugin we shared in the previous reply and the settings for that are also controlled by that plugin.
In any case, if you would like to have more control over your breadcrumbs using Rank Math you can use the filters we have available here: https://rankmath.com/kb/filters-hooks-api-developer/#breadcrumbs
